WIT Announces Women of Excellence Award to be Presented at Third Annual WIT Mother-Daughter Brunch

WIT fundraiser to end period poverty will be an exciting morning of music and tributes to women who have been a positive and loving influence in the lives of girls. 


Women In Training, Inc., a nonprofit organization that distributes #WITKITS ​of menstrual, hygiene and dental products to underserved girls and nonbinary youth, is accepting nominations for the WIT Women of Excellence Award to honor women who demonstrate leadership in their profession and community. The prestigious award will be presented at the Third Annual WIT Mother-Daughter Brunch to end period poverty on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center. 


The WIT Women of Excellence Award is the brainchild of Ariel Dixon, the reigning Miss Huntingdon. Dixon, a native of Saraland, Alabama, is a junior at Huntington College majoring in criminal justice.

“I am so excited to be serving with Women in Training, Inc. during my reign as Miss Huntingdon,” Dixon said. “Their overwhelming support of my platform, Women of Excellence, has led to an amazing collaboration in the WIT Women of Excellence Award which highlights our collective efforts to honor women in our communities.

Chantel Hartman, a public health consultant and Women in Training, Inc. volunteer, co-chairs the WIT Women of Excellence Award project with Dixon.


“It’s an honor to support Women in Training, Inc. and Miss Huntingdon’s commitment to women throughout the state,” Hartman said. “I look forward to celebrating the amazing achievements and contributions of our WIT Women of Excellence nominees.”


All nominations for the WIT Women of Excellence Award must be submitted using the designated nomination form by Friday, January 19, 2024. 


Nominations are being accepted for women in the following ten categories: 

After the application period has closed, judges will score each nomination using a predetermined scoring rubric. There will be a two-part selection process, which includes the nomination submission and an interview. The highest scored nomination from each category will be named the category’s honoree.


All finalists will be announced on the WIT social media channels on February 5, 2024.


The winner will be announced at the Third Annual WIT Mother-Daughter Brunch on March 2, 2024, at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center. Mother-Daughter Brunch tickets can be purchased HERE.



Proceeds raised from the Third Annual WIT Mother-Daughter Brunch will support the #WITKITS Campaign to provide menstrual, hygiene and dental items to low-income menstruators.
