National Teen Driver Safety Week is observed October 16-22, 2022 annually. This marks a time when communities raise awareness and encourage safety for teen drivers. Motor vehicle crashes remain the number one cause of death among teens, ages 15-18, in the United States. On Saturday, October 22, 2022, Women in Training and the Fortitude Leadership Academy will host the State Farm Teen Driver Safety workshop from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Tucker Center, 5280 Vaughn Road in Montgomery.
This interactive workshop, presented by the University of Alabama at Birmingham Trip Lab and sponsored by State Farm, will address the most critical rules teen drivers need to follow to stay safe behind the wheel while managing the most significant risks. This course will address texting and driving, seat belt use, speeding, alcohol use, and the number of passengers in a motor vehicle; among other topics. This event is free and open to middle and high school students.
Women in Training is offering community service hours to all participants through its Presidents Volunteer Service Award program.
