The twins met this divine soul, Amerika Blair, a few months ago. She was on the Junior League of Montgomery committee that reviewed the Women In Training - WIT grant application. Amerika and her fellow Committee members kindly met with Breanna and Brooke at Starbucks to chat about the girls’ menstrual equity vision. Occasionally, Amerika checks on the twins and, during Holy Week, she generously packed #WITKITS® of menstrual, hygiene, and dental products to give to girls and young women living in foster homes, homeless shelters, and low-income housing projects. Happy Global Volunteers Month to a beautiful lady!
Jill Friedman is one of the first people to volunteer with Women in Training, Inc. (WIT). Before we even had our first planning meeting last summer, Ms. Friedman provided organizational development suggestions to help bring Breanna and Brooke’s menstrual equity vision to fruition. It’s rare to see Ms. Friedman in a photo, because she is usually behind the camera lens. In that vein, she attends every WIT event, and documents the menstrual education program and the giveaway of #WITKITS full of free period products, soap, deodorant, lotion, shampoo and conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste, socks, panties, journals, and bracelets decorated with empowering words. Thank you, Ms. Friedman, for caring and for taking memorable photos.
