Opinion Piece: We Who Believe in Freedom Will Protect Women’s Right to an Abortion

On June 24, 2022, the US Supreme Court reversed its ruling in the 1973 Roe v. Wade case, opening the door for states to make it illegal for women and girls to obtain abortions. Abortion bans went immediately into effect in Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Utah.
