I was born and lived in Boston, Massachusetts before heading to Minnesota to attend Carleton College and the University of St Thomas for graduate school.
I am recently retired from The University of Iowa Hospitals and clinics Outpatient Child Psychiatric clinic. In the clinic, I evaluated students to determine how best to help them be successful in their schools. I worked at the University of Iowa for thirty-two years but previously I taught in New Orleans, LA, Mobile, Alabama, Minneapolis, MN and up on the Iron Range in Minnesota. I taught students with emotional and behavior problems, students on the Autism Spectrum, and high school students with learning problems over about twelve years. My strengths include Learner, Arranger, Responsibility, Achiever, and harmony that I use for : relationship building, problem solving, mentoring, leadership, and a love of helping others grow and develop their skills and talents.
I currently love teaching in the Career Leadership Academy for the University of Iowa helping students develop their leadership skills while exploring career choices and learning how to establish their own brand to market their skills and strengths in the workplace.
